The first two rounds of the ArenacrossUK 2018 series is in the books.
Really had no idea what to expect in terms of results but we wanted to take our brand of affordable motocross to another sector of the sport and a different audience . Having already proved you don’t need expensive four stroke engines and even more expensive suspension to win European and National outdoor motocross.
The format means that you have to finish in the top 16 from the heat races to progress to the second phase. The top eight of which go straight into the 12 man final, the other eight then go head to head to try to secure the other four places,
Our goal was to reach these head to head races we knew to hear a two stroke rippin around indoors in front of a big crowd would be fantastic ,and then anything else is bonus.
The first round in Manchester , Mike Kras in his first ever Arenacross was our stand out rider, achieve just that and had a head to head race where he was knocked out by the experienced AX rider Adam Chatfield.
This week in Newcastle it was Jimmy Dunns turn to shine making it to the head to heads. James went one better by winning two of his three head to head races against the big four-strokes, to earn a place in the Main.
Which meant we had once again made a bit of history as the first two stroke to make an AX final since they started in 2013.
Once in the main its a straight race, Jimmy knows how to race and did came home in 7th and could have had fifth but for a first go at a Main on a two stoke was superb.
So thanks to both riders, Ade and the rest of the team and sponsors for all their efforts in getting us out there.
Remember this is all done on a stock KTM sx250 with a DEP Pipe and a VHM / Ecomaxx head and fuel developed for us by Johan ,Hekki & TVG running on stock WP air forks and stock rear shock worked on by KASuspension.
So when your rider says “I need…..” the answer is “No you don’t”. Conversely when you’re told “we can’t afford to do it” the answer is “yes you can”
